Eddy Merckx paint info

I know a lot of the Corsa Extra frames were painted in team colors. Is this one a team colors, if so which one? Thanks

I don't think it was a team bike. It looks like the inverse of Motorola/American Airlines.

I see that color-way is in several of the catalogues.

Good looking though!!

The 7-11 team looks like yours, with the "chevrons" on the down tube and seat tube, but the colors are wrong. This is from the 1989 catalogue.

from the same catalogue…

But I've never seen the lilac/fuchsia in person, and I've seen many color combinations that were never in a catalogue.

My Panto'd Merckx was never offered in Molteni orange in 1984, yet my dad was able to special order one.

So there is no definitive answer to your question. Heck, maybe some unknown team wanted their own look.

Since we're discussing Merckx team paint, was there any team that used the "tutti frutti" paint scheme?

Mine, in case anyone doesn't know tutti frutti
