I have always wanted a Ciocc Mockba since youth. Never saw one recently enough that wasn't priced out of my range of comfort. It is a project and I likely overpaid a bit, but 'tis life. Seller says 26.4mm seatpost, but I am not sure that it is correct. I will know soon enough. @Mad Honk 's project Ciocc Mockba now has a South Carolina cousin.

Super Record crankset, Superbe DT shifters, Superbe RD, Superbe pedals, presumably SR FD, Modolo Professional brakes/levers (hoods are dead) and Cinelli 65-40/stem convey. Oh, and the bar tape of course.

Nice! Well, except for the rust...but there's stuff for that.
I seriously doubt the 26.4 seat post size could be correct: even if this frame has an Aelle seat tube (not likely if the remnant of Columbus decal is correct) it would be at the least 26.8.
I'd be quite surprised if this isn't 27.2
Some "purists" might cast aspersions on the Modolo Pro brakes and the Superbe components, but not me, I like both (even Sun Tour on such an Italian frame).
If this floats your boat then just keep rowing.

I think this was the perfect frameset to end my grail searches that end up usually good, (other than the Fauxsin). So the boat might be anchored at this point...not quite in dry dock.

Congrats on Ciocc find. Nice stuff generally costs $$$. Even on a $$ budget we stretch, eh?
Your list already includes some really nice ones. 2 ADs has been my thing as well.

The SLE might find a new home. Not sure yet on that. Depends on how my garage reorganization goes...

I will probably build it up with some derusting done and make it a riding option before going into a full restoration.

Thanks!

curious to see what your approach is with the rust as I have a similar situation with an Erickson frame ( with unusual paint I'll never be able to match.)

I don't see anything that would require torchwork to fix. To me this is on the borderline between "needs new paint" and "derust, touch up, and ride it." That's a decision between you and your finance minister.

I suspect it is going to be a number like this for that seat post:

this one is a slightly snug fit in mine and may need a bit of treatment inside the seat tube to get a nice fit. Smiles, MH

So maybe the 26.4 is not too incorrect...eek!

Haha! West Coast vibes!

I will know more when it arrives. I probably will go the touch up route first.

My finance minister (me) and I (also me) have decided this was a fitting (hopefully) last purchase.

@jdawginsc - Nice!
FD is definitely SR with the black parts.
Should you wish to have 64-40 HB instead of the 65-40. I would be happy to swap.

Only change is from sewups to clincher rims.

It was going on the Faggin, but might have to make a tough decision eventually...! Good problem to have. Might have to keep the Ciocc old school and up-date the Faggin.

The RD is actually a Superbe Pro. On the regular superbe the two large pivot allenbolts, were made of chromed steel, and had engravings. On the pro they are alloy, as seen on your RD. Also the cable attatchment was just a hex bolt on the regular Superbe, and your RD have the allen bolt of the Superbe Pro.

No harsh words on that MTB, please, I did not give up on it, so you shouldn't either
Nice Ciöcc, congrats, Little ruff here and there, but overall a nice one. I also wanted one, but I afraid it will stay on the bucket list maybe longer than my expiration date.

No way! I love my Fauxsin! Best guess as now is it is related to Malcolm Smith Sports somehow.

And thanks, it seemed it was calling me for some reason. It was nagging at me since I started collecting bikes. I had resolved that I had a good enough stable of frame projects for retirement but it popped up!
