Interesting but highly modified Juvela Pick Up!

Found this today. Most of the original parts are gone, replaced by a mix oof Shimano 105 and RSX bits. Campy headset, seat post and bottom bracket are all that remain. Love the lug work and head badge. I'm thinking 1970s, but I have no idea really.

The bones on this bike are very good. Interesting mix of parts.

Hopefully juvela will be on soon to tell all about his bicycle marque.

Oh, That is a really nice looking ride......I know that @juvela has heard that before....I have used it a few times myself, so I won't use it again...
Best, Ben
BTW, why not share the story about how you acquired it?

Could be '50s or '60s too. Those lugs were popular from the mid '50s through the '70s with little change. (The ones before some time in the mid-'50s had a different shape at the very front. Where yours has a "whale tail", earlier ones had "vampire fangs" The latter are very rare today.)

The fork decals are pre-'73, though of course factories might have had a big stash of older decals it took a long time to go through.

Something about it says '60s to me.

I love the frame work, especially the wrap-over seatstays. Great score!

Whoa, I had no idea Juvela was a bike brand. Just thought it was one of the OG dudes who posts in C&V!

Both!
What throws me are two sets of water bottle bosses: those have to be added-on, right?
Since it's basically a Mondia by another name is there a serial number stamped on the NDS stay cap (as Mondia did)? If so that might help nail a build date.

Serial 165281.

I assume those bottle mounts are add ons as well. Not sure.

Classic Rendezvous has a pretty nice collection of serial numbers and data for Mondia bikes. I know nothing about the Juvela bike but it looks a lot like a Mondia to me . When I acquired my Super Mondia , the CR website was a valuable resource for not only dating , but verifying the original components.
