Can't say I feel bad for the driver, It's sad that the cyclist was collateral damage in a police chase.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

Given that he hit the cyclist while already fleeing police, it's a stretch to call it hit and run.

A fairer headline might have been "fleeing driver hits cyclist then dies an a fiery crash", or something like that.

In any case, other than a cyclist being collateral damage, I don't see this as grist for this mill.

It is not hard, to not have any sympathy for the driver. He was pretty much, in a rush to 'meet his maker'.

We're here to talk about bicycle safety issues, not cheer on 'karma'. No talk of they got what they deserved, that's actually vicious and not the BF Way. The incident is tragic for all parties involved, especially their loved ones.

Please exhibit more civility.
