NOS Stronglight crankset. Can't date it exactly on Velobase but it is most similar to the Stronglight tandem crankset from the 40's or 50's. Probably late in that range. It is going on a 1962 Legnano Gran Premio to replace the original Magistroni 52/48 set. The Stronglight has 52/42 rings so it is a more friendly range for my knees!

Clipless sweetness

Hardly (ever) used Shimano PD-1056 pedals

Accidentally ran into them on german ebay, I was the only bidder .
Came with instruction manual, maintenance tool, original Shimano cleats with two set of screws, and a kind message from the seller.

It will be my first time with clipless pedals, the only problem now is that my shoes are ~120km away, so I cannot try them out...

^^ That's a cool score. ^^^

My 1056 NIB arrived today, looks like they've been tested.
Still, great pedals, included all the stuff and the tool.

I also rec'd my Look A3.1 Ironman pedals to go with my Ironman water bottles....

And yesterday, I rec'd the Look FQV's in black resin.

Which means I'll be selling two sets of red Look Carbons, a set of worn 7401's, some really nice Free Arcs, and a set of Exustar's...

From Deutschland, and bound for my beloved '84 Masi Gran Criterium.
I suck at finding stuff like this cheap, but I'm happy with these.

I'm waiting on some: Shimano 1056's in the box.I was also the only bidder.
Great deal. I'll have 3 near NOS sets.
I have no idea why they don't bring higher prices, won't complain.
I picked up the tool to take them apart about 2 years ago.
Those are interesting. I am am fan of the PD-7401 models, which look very similar (though a darker grey). Do you know what, if any, mechanical differences there are between the PD-1056 and the PD-7401 models? A possible reason why they don't command more money may be that most people might only be searching for the more common 7401s.

By the way, you may want to send some photos to Cuda2k over at Velobase. They don't have a listing for these pedals, just the PD-1055 model with clips.

An old style Silca frame pump. Which I'm thinking about spraying to match the frame color. Don't know why. Just for fun.

This can help: https://forums.roadbikereview.com/com...ls-167890.html
user RC28's comments in particular

As far as I know, the main difference between those two is the functioning of the retention mechanism. On the back of the 1056 there is a selector screw, where you can switch between single and multiple release modes. And the 'claw' was split horizontally into two pieces, lower made of metal, upper made of plastic.
In multiple mode 'the shoe can be released in several directions: by pulling the heel upward or diagonally upward or by twisting the heel outward' (quoted from manual ). This is ideal for beginners.
Single mode is for the classical 'twist your ankle outwards' method.
And of course there was some variance in the quality of the materials used, i. e. spindle and bearings.

But I'm sure Robbie can add some useful info since he owns both models.

By the way it was my exact plan to create a velobase article of them in the near future.

EDIT: ^^^ calamarichris, I can understand that you're happy with those .

Velo Orange box. Brake levers small parts, cables, French Headset.

Packed very well, So much so I think they could streamline the packaging a bit and it would be just as safe.

Hopping on the NOS shimano delta cleated pedal bandwagon. These came last week, I now have a FULL tricolor group (stem and seatpost too, just can't locate the 6401 8 speed Dt shifters). They truly are NOS, the box is shot, but there are NO wear indicators. Late night ebay. ~$45. Also have the tricolor 6400 clip/strap pedals.

^Glad I jumped on the BIN listing before you saw it! They were expensive--more than I really wanted to spend--but I figured it may be a while before I see another NOS pair. I've read in several places that Dia-Comp hoods are supposed to be a good fit for these levers as a fall-back option.

Dura ace cranks from -cudak888. Once polished up they should look nice on my newly acquired trek 1400.
By the way, great guy to deal with.
