Hand Soap!
Finally hand soap is almost gone! I think I’ve had this soap for about 20-30 years! Haven’t found anything quite as good and hand friendly as this!
Just a little bit takes care of any automotive, bicycle, house maintenance dirty hands!
Anybody got a favorite?
Still plenty left! No really remarkable with the advent of water soluble materials that soap has to contend with these days…
Gotta do some research tonight. I’m sure it’s still available in some iteration.

You can still get Fast Orange Hand Cleaner on Amazon. A gallon for $10.97.

I like Go-Jo Orange Pumice. The thing is, with jelly hand cleaners the formula today is not what it was 20 years ago. 20-30 years ago it had something else in it that really cut through the grease fast. It still cuts through grease but not like it used to.

Phil Wood is my go to for grease removal or if not that a little bit of cooking oil works a treat and then for regular soaping needs Dr. Bronner's all the way always. It is good soap generally at a decent price (though the price has gone up a touch) and it works for so many things it is great to have around the house in case you run out of one of your various soaps for various purposes. Plus if you get bored in the shower you have some crazy writings to read.

Yeah, I use Fast Orange Smooth. Fred Meyer (Kroger). Use it for both bike (and everything else) and in the kitchen to remove capsicum (the oil of hot peppers) from my hands. I stay away from the pumice version to protect knife blades and bearings. I like that I don't feel the need to use soap to remove the Fast Orange and feel clean.
The containers I see and buy are 14 oz and low cylinders but with the same lid. (Good containers. I find lots of uses for them.)

Latex gloves or nitrile gloves. Costco sells them inexpensively enough. Some brands are better latex or nitrile formulations than others. Don't get them in a snug size. The more you stretch them the more they act like a balloon when they get a cut or prick.

I prefer the original Go-Jo. Still gets the grease out of my hands, but I don't have pumice in various nicks and scratches when I get done. Auto parts stores usually have it.

You have to get hand cleaner with Fine Italian Pumice when working on your Italian bike or bike equipped with Campagnolo components or just want to feel like an Italian bike mechanic. I don't have any Campy parts on my bikes but if I did, I would not want to ruin the experience with anything else. Bene.

Dr. Bronners pepermint in liquid form is my do all soap. Wash my shorts, hats, shirts and hands with it. Sometimes I use a dose of baking soda with it when washing grease from my hands. Have to use a brush to get into the cracks and crevices on the hands, but it works and smells great!

I give my hands a couple of sprays of Simple Green, rub them together as needed to work off the grease, and wipe them off with a rag. Then, a simple soap-and-water wash to finish the job. Works pretty well for me, and I end up smelling citrusy-fresh.

Hah, I currently just use a splash of dish soap but this reminds me of hanging around my dad's auto shop in the early 90's, greasy bathroom with a tub of that hand cleaner stuff always

Fels Naptha, doubles as a foul mouth deterrent according to my mom.

Shadco, my mom and dad held the same opinion about Fels Naptha. I can personally testify to its effectiveness!

Semi-related: a trick I learned by accident.
If you work on bikes without gloves, moisturizing your hands before you work on your bike makes cleaning your hands afterwards much easier.
Obviously you want to do this far enough in advance so you're not leaving greasy finger prints on your bike.
