I'm so, so sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace and may you have great memories of her.

Best regards

Jeez, that brought memory's back. 20+ years ago I had to identify my stepdad by a tattoo he had in the Navy after he had been trapped in a river weir for 3 months, not a pleasant task, and he was such a lovely person.
The point for delbiker1 is, I still think about him and talk to him. When someone is taken from you physically they remain alive with you.

So sorry you lost your sister. Of all the sucky things in life, losing loved ones is the suckiest.

I lost my brother years ago. He was obese and in terrible shape, and when we were kids we fought like cats and dogs. But we were close and got closer as we got older. I cried like a baby giving his eulogy. It was not pretty.

All I have now are memories, but I treasure them.

As a father of twins I know there is a special bond there that cannot be explained. My daughter survived a very troublesome birth , her identical sister did not . She feels the presence of her sister even though they never played together. Hopefully , as time goes on , you will keep the presence of your sister with you. I am sorry for your loss.

I very much appreciate this comment, in particular. Kathy and I were 3rd and 4th born of 10 children, she took her time, showing up 75 minutes after me, and was predeceased by our oldest and youngest brothers. No matter how different my twin and I were, there was always a special connection between us, some of which I will carry as long as I live. Seeing her was one of the hardest, most necessary, moments of my life.

I have been home for a couple of days, done a couple of bike rides to the beach and back. Life goes on, I keep rolling.

I can appreciate the type of bond you had with your twin sister. While my sister was a little older than me, she was the closest person to my by far. Her passing last year left a hole.

She was a strong and competitive triathlete, so I want to do a big ride this year to honor her life. I haven't figured out what event it will be yet, but I am doing every ride this whole year with her in mind.
