So very tempting and the cranks are my size. Just spent 20 minutes looking at my bins and my framesets. I'm going to leave this for someone else to grab... for now.

interesting......
any idea what would be the matching hubset for this group?
i'm leaning towards one of the tri-color groups floating around here, but the nightmare-project frame i just bought needs to have some cable guides brazed on the top tube, so brazing a FD attachments wouldn't be much of an additional stretch. .... of course there's a coupe of beautiful complete bikes for sale not too far away...
no rush - let me know if you know. thanks.

(man, is it my imagination or has the demand for beautiful old road bikes evaporated?

...seems to be lower, like in a bear market. I don't know what happened to all the hipsters who were into fixies and artisanal stuff. You would think they are aging into a demographic that needs more gearing because of bad knees and aging. But I recall a time period before, where demand was low, and prices dropped accordingly. Luckily, I bought all my bikes when prices were up.

The matching hubset for this group would include the Dura Ace 7400, 7402, and 7403. I have several 7400 sets in surplus, 32 hole and 36 hole. All rears are 126mm spacing. One of the rears is english threaded for a freewheel (<---'have a uniglide freewheel for this one too). See pic below. Reach out if you are interested.

Recommend the 7403 as it's hyperglide/uniglide compatible. Great hubs .. have a couple sets still silky smooth all these years later.

Oh for crying out loud, I'll do it. It'll be stashed until the next frame purchase or market rebound.

PM incoming.

Hipsters are into electric bikes and scooters that they can rent using their phone, these days. Owning your own bike is for capitalists or something.

The great thing about 7-speed is you can get a brand new, all-chromed and ramped freewheel for less than 25 bucks ... and you don't have to spread your vintage '80s frame.
