After a week's absence from the bicycle scene, and after our first heavy snowfall, the Dump coughed up a nice Bianchi and a nice GT...
Needless to say, the bike flow in Thunder Bay has slowed dramatically, but I still make two trips a week to the Landfill site. It took me a good half hour to shovel these two bikes out of the snow today.

Not vintage, but a catch is a catch. My friend sold me his old 2006 Kona King Kikapu, full suspension mountain bike for $75 this past weekend. He moved onto 29'ers, and since he was loading up the moving truck to move across town, his wife said get it outta here.
I took a fuzzy picture that's not up to my usual caliber, so I am embarrassed to post. But, after putting on my spare XT wheelset, tightening some bolts on the suspension linkage, and adjusting the shock air pressures, it's all set to roll.
Can't wait to try it out this weekend! OOoh, and he threw in a set of studded tires

just got home with this.. these are the sellers pics
haven't dated it yet but I'd guess early 80s Univega Super Strada with FULL Dura Ace EX, nitto handlebars, araya rims. Pretty sure the frame is Tange Champion, but the tubing sticker is gone
Seller went to town disassembling bike, even tore down the rear wheel because the spokes were rusted out. He spent a lot of time cleaning it up, but then lost interest in the project before he got it back together. From the looks of things, before the teardown it didn't get ridden much but was definitely neglected in storage.
The frame is my size.. not sure if I should spend the $ to complete the build and keep it, or continue to tear it down and sell it piece by piece or as a grouppo.. i know some of these DA bits garner some interest.... like, that stem is gorgeous! Would also be pretty sweet to put the DA drive train on a mtb drop bar conversion.. i dunno what i'm gonna do honestly hahaha
[edit.. actually, after measuring, it's 62cm c-c.. a touch on the large size for me. I will probably end up parting it out and/or putting some bits on other keepers]

I say build it up, spokes are cheap. If you are missing any tools I probably have them and can help.

Going to pick this up tomorrow - from the photo it looks like a Dawes Galaxy. According to the seller, it has a Brooks saddle (B17?), Bluemels fenders and Milremo pedals. £33 - thoughts?

i was thinking of building it up, till i realized the frame was 62cm, which means it's too big for me and also limits the resale value. I think it's going to be smarter to part it out and keep the stuff I want

I am starting to get a collection of high end Panasonic built Schwinns: Paramount Series 7, Series 5, Prologue, and a World Voyageur. Been missing a Peloton and a Volare to round out the group. So I picked up this Peloton, even though it was missing quite a few of the original parts (wheels and RD). And it is the wrong size....

That looks like a really nice bag and sounds like a great deal.
