I'm not sure who would have donated it, but this handsome Mercian with 9 speed Ultegra is at my local co-op. $700.

Full 8sp Ultegra STI updated 59cm 1989 Fuji Roubaix - $425 (Milford)

This beautiful 1989 Fuji Roubaix was bought as a frame set on which to mount my 600/Ultegra tricolor group. I wanted the classic look of a lugged steel frame with the convenience of modern shifting.

The frameset, one of Fuji's top tier bikes for the year, built with i35 triple butted tubing made specifically for Fuji by Ishiwata, is as stated from 1989. The only parts left of the original bike are the frame, fork and headset. The front half of the white frame has a black splatter effect, popular in the late eighties/early nineties. The frame was fully cleaned, any small chips were touched in and the whole thing looks incredible.

The group is Shimano's awesome 600 tricolor group, the next year to be named Ultegra. The group is in beautiful condition, all stickers and decals present. The group consisted of STI shifters, brake calipers, derailleurs, pedals and hubs laced to Mavic rims.

Everything else not included with the group has been replaced with new other than the handlebars which were takeoff from a bike with few miles. The bottom bracket is a brand new Shimano cartridge unit, the 8 speed cassette and chain replaced, the tires and tubes are new. The saddle is a new Turbo lookalike that sits on a new Kalloy seat post. All the cables have been replaced, as have the cable outers. All the new parts including new bar tape were chosen to compliment the accent colors in the decals.

This is a gorgeous bike. So why am I selling? It is just a bit too big for me at 5'10". I have other bikes that fit me a lot better. I also have a Trans-Atlantic move on the not so distant horizon.

Chance to own an incredible bike that has vintage style and modern performance. $425

Usually somebody's Dad passed away, he had them in the basement, no interest in talking to strangers about them.

Someone needs to grab this. Note the anodized bronze chain rings and brake calipers!

Anodized Le Pree parts as well!

Nishiki seemed to have some kind of special supplier deal with Suntour. For example, they were the first with the triple pulley RD. Odd when you consider Nishiki didn't build their own bikes.

Looks like the original aluminum fork. Unwise to ride it but for that price you can afford to hang it on the wall. There's an original Lambert on the local CL also with the original aluminum fork, but for much more money.

I was #2 to reply last night to an early '70s Peugeot PX10 for $50. Yes, a PX10 for $50. The Brooks saddle was worth more than that. The seller said if the other guy doesn't want it it would be mine. Like that would happen in a million years. That was the best CL deal I have seen in years.

Is it the right size? It looks pretty mint. Many people would prefer Italian drive train on a Colnago, but there is nothing wrong with Dura Ace from a riding perspective. Remember the Canadian dollar has sunk, so it is roughly 20% less when buying with US dollars. I like it.

Bikes for sale - $60 (ashland & fullerton, IL)

Bikes for sale

I'm selling two bicycles for sale. Asking $60 for each bike. If you buy both bikes I'm willing to sell them for $100 for both. The tires just need some air in them and they are ready to ride.

The write-up says buyer pays shipping. If it sells, I expect someone will be pretty unhappy.
