Taipei Bike Show
We went to Taipei, Taiwan to visit our son and saw signs advertising this gigantic bike show! Really for industry insiders, but open to the public on the last day. A few highlights:
Thinking out pickup a few new jerseys, these look nice.
Right as we walk in, we meet the "Father of Mountain Bikes" Gary Fisher (in the middle)
Claudio Chiapucci's KOM bike from a while back.
The lug work!
Self explanatory.
As I understand it, Trigon manufactures bikes for many of the big brands.
Hour Record bike at the Pinarello exhibit.
100 tooth chain ring!

I miss going to the Interbike shows in Long Beach back in the day. Bike trade shows are pretty fun, aren't they?

I always wanted to buy my own robot.
Lots of great looking Ti. This was one of the nicest.
More Ti.
Kool kids bike. Strider bike converts to a pedal bike.
Stingrays are back!
Lots of TPU tubes, but none sold to consumers or in the U.S.
More bespoke Ti.

My favorite was at the Disneyland Hotel, early to mid 70s. Disneyland was closed to everyone, except the trade show attendees, no charge. We just walked onto every ride.

The bad part was that there was nothing to buy, even if I wanted to. A new Pinarello, or at least a T shirt. Just lunch.

Back in the day, you could get all kinds of swag--catalogs, bottle openers, coozies, knick-knacks, etc.
