Punctuation and finishing the paint removal might have helped sell this bike especially if they threw in the barely-used broom.

Perhaps a little overpriced. Looks like the owner has a problem bending forks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/121220067193

unless you collect Nintendo items ......... so how much would you pay for a penny ????

Rare 1943 Penny Sells for $1 Million

https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headline...for-1-million/

now to be fair to the seller he only asked 5000.00 for it to start off and left it to the bidding war

How much would I pay for a penny? About what I'd pay for a Nintendo game, $0.01 and not a penny more.

funny how people are different. not many people would spend the kind of money we spend on bikes. with that said, no way would i pay 98 grand on a bicycle.

Very true. I know people who spend more on tobacco and alcohol in a year than I've spent on bicycles in the past 10 years and they think I'm wacky for "playing" with bicycles. Doesn't bother me a bit, we all have our "vices". I understand someone wanting a rare video game, I just can't understand someone willing to pay 98 Grand for one, a damaged one no less. Don't know about the rest of you but $98,000 is a LOT of money to me.

On one hand, I admire this person's PSA about brake/break, which is definitely one of my pet peeves. (Duplicate ads being another pet peeve.)
On the other hand, it would be nice if this person used things like, oh, punctuation. Looks like the self-styled editor could use an editor. People in glass houses...

https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/4304082790.html
Hey people: it's BRAKES, not BREAKS (Everywhere )
Doesn't anyone know how to spell anymore??
What the hell
Apparently if one person sees it spelled this way then everyone starts to spell it this way
Like I said
What the hell
Is everybody out there out there
Lets think about what we are doing here people and create a meaningful ad
And what's with all the d---heads duplicating ads**********?
Take the line "Is everybody out there out there". It would make a lot more sense with some punctuation, like thus:
Is everybody out there, out there?

Even being a grammar snob, I'll take crap spelling and decent bike selection over the rubbish populating metro NY craigslist. If I see one more 12" girls bike for $75 I'm going to scream!

Sometimes a vaguely worded ad turns up gold. I answered a local listing for "old bike parts: $50" a while back. It was an ex racer who was moving and cleaning out his spares. These were NOS and never mounted, laced, or used:

Also in the box were used Cinelli bars, a pair of barcons, 2 used NR RD's and a couple nice lightly used ultra-6 Suntour clusters. A good day. He was a nice guy who know what they were, (he was keeping his Serotta), but was moving and wanted 'em gone.

This is one of the more interesting bikes I've seen on Craigslist. Not sure if the Excelsior is the same as the famed Excelsior motorcycles, but it is intriguing. Love that front gearbox, and the clamp on crank arm. Shimano didn't figure that out for another 50 years or so.

Six months. At least.
Six months I've had to look at this stupid ad day after day after day. Can't flag it away. Nobody's going to buy it. It is condemned to an eternity in CL purgatory, never bought nor sold, and all we can do is watch it sit.

Six months.
And counting.
