i'd not buy into it.
Drinking mt Dew, standing in front of a microwave, & a high pork diet are not going to prevent it either.

My wife banned me from cycling while we were trying for our first. Eventually, after multiple rounds of very expensive treatments, our twins were born and I got back on the bike.
Our 3rd was born with no medical intervention 10 months after she treated me to a birthday trip to Maui and I rode up Haleakala.
Near as I can tell, switching from briefs to boxers had a bigger change in my motility than my weekly mileage.

If your wife's GP has not seen your sperm count he, or she, is making an empirical therapeutic suggestion, without even examining the patient, you.
I'm with those who suggest you go consult a real physician.
In the mean time, you can ask us for legal advice as well, or investments.

My sperm won’t even talk to me, so having them count while riding a bike is out of the question.

Okay, here's a dive into the shallow end of the literature pool:
--------
Jóźków P, Rossato M. The Impact of Intense Exercise on Semen Quality. American Journal of Men’s Health. 2017;
In a number of studies (usually focused on road-bikers), cycling has been associated with abnormal spermatozoa morphology and reduced motility...
[C]ycling for ≥5 hours per week was associated with reductions in the sperm concentration and motility. Another study that examined semen samples from 231 men referred for infertility treatment pointed to a similar trend. Men who reported cycling for 1.5 hours or more per week had sperm concentrations that were 34% lower than those of men who did not ride bicycles.
--------
Beresini, E. What Sports Lower My Sperm Count? Outside Magazine. 2013
"It's becoming more clear that one of the only activities that seems to be detrimental is cycling," says Harvard fertility researcher Audrey Gaskins. Several studies have linked time in the saddle to poor sperm morphology—the more time you ride, the more demented your swimmers get. One study found that men who had less than four percent normal-looking sperm were consistently riding more than 186 miles per week. It's still not entirely clear whether it’s the tight shorts, friction, or position on the bike that leads to bad looking sperm. "It's probably due to the mechanics of it," Gaskins says...
THE BOTTOM LINE: If your BMI is less than 20, or you cycle more than 186 miles per week, you may up your risk of having poor quality sperm. But if you cut back the mileage or increase your BMI for at least three months, any damage you’ve done, researchers believe, can be reversed.

As a personal note (not that decent sperm count will ever be on my Christmas list):
- BMI less than 20, check
- ride more than 186 miles per week, check

Except for Africa, the population is not really growing anywhere else in the world. In quite a few places it is actually in retrograde. The U.S. is one of those places. Even in Africa, total population is expected to plateau in the next decade or so. So be at peace. Overpopulation will not be the problem. Not sure why it persists as a talking point. To your unspoken point though ... we (Boomers and X'ers) in the First and Second World have stripped this planet of everything the Z's and Alpha's need to thrive. Moreover we have not figured out Climate Change and Industrial Pollution to anyone's satisfaction. As near as I can tell, Civilization as we know it has about 25 years or less left. What comes next isn't anything I'd wish on my own flesh and blood.

Right ... it isn't poor people ruining the world .... it is Americans using twenty-five time the resources needed in order to have lives--even for the poor--which would be considered luxurious in one-third of the world.
Big bill coming due soon ..... the issue with the third child isn't overpopulation, it is that child possibly not wanting to have children when packs of crazed cannibal zombies are stalking the land. Or, more seriously, when water costs as much as gasoline does now. We basically turned paradise into a landfill and future generations will have nothing but scraps and trash, much of it toxic.
Of course, that doesn't stop me from enjoying a bike ride.

Common sense my friends. If your nads are going numb, there is reason for concern. Otherwise it's a non-issue.

Thread closed. Nothing useful to the OP and the topic in general has been said for many posts. Plus the thread has turned political which most of those posting are long time members and certainly know better.
