GMR shows it's closed, but is it closed to bikes right now? Has anyone confirmed it's open to bikes at this time? Thanks!

When Caltrans closes GMR, they simply put gates down at either end.
Over the past five years, I saw gates down a dozen times. Just dismount and heave your bike over.
Highly doubt any ice patches exist anywhere, even at the 4,000 ft top elevation.
Very enjoyable to ride it without vehicles zipping by. Just watch for gravel or dirt in the sharp turns.

Just remember there are still service vehicles out and about on GMR-GRR even when all the gates are closed.

Thanks for the replies. I've ridden GMR once before when it was closed and it was amazing to ride so carefree for cars.

It’s open right now. Just rode a few miles up. That road down past the fire station is horrible needs to get re paved. My Roubaix put in work thought I was on the cobbles in Paris
