Don't make a special "dive" on my account but next time you're in there I'd be interested to see what you have.

I used to have a "portable, temporary storage unit" but some guy kept stopping and asking my wife if it was for sale, I told her to tell him it was not but he finally caught me at home one Saturday and in the right mood, I told him I had decided it was time for it to move on and that this may or may not be his "lucky" day LOL. We made the deal and I got a practically new 2022 TREK Markin 5 in my size as part of it, cleared out 2 truck loads of parts from the garage and opened a spot in the driveway which all made the Better Half VERY happy LOL. Since it's departure I've come across several great deals that I was fortunately unable to talke advantage of because I had no way to bring them home.

I bit extreme, but you could have someone with the correct tools, knowledge
and expertise. Mill .5cm + off the head tube.
Should be plenty of extra.

I was surprised, even with all the builders here, most of them won't do it and the few that will want big $$$$$, indicating they would rather not.

I have a 36h rear, but:

1. It's laced, and:
2. I've already converted it to an 8 speed freehub

No front to match. Depending on how desperate you get, I could relace the wheel with another hub if the dimensions are the same.

It's a job for a pro.

That includes:

Pro mechanic time and expertise (new guy or years of experience - different rates)
Pro tools (wouldn't try this with modern, inexpensive asian knockoff production)
Shop time(base rate for time in the stand).

I have seen a number of botched bicycle repairs of various type.
Some DIY, some actually a shop with a inexperienced mechanic.

Pay the money and have not only the knowledge, but the confidence it
was done correctly as well.

Thanks but I have conceded defeat on the 36h RSX hubs. I found a super clean set of Dark Gray Deore LX 36 hole hubs that were within the budget, the Dk.Gray makes a nice contrast to the frame color, polished aluminum components and SST spokes and it looks really good with the Navy Blue on the rims.

Looking for any cracked and ready-for-the-trash 1950's Raleigh soldered-end brake cable sets that might happen to have this pesky, oversized step-down ferrule on it. It might be on '52 and earlier bikes; '53+ seemed to use a much larger ferrule.

This one is a few millimeters bigger than the 1980's Dia-Compe ferrule that looks like it; it fits a fairly large and loose 5 ~ 5.5mm standard ferrule inside it.

Kurt, I'm sure I have at least two of those, as I hoarded them when I got our his and hers Rudge Sports. I'll have a look through the numerous boxes and a couple bike bags over the next few days, but it may take until the weekend to really find them.

ISO: Visually matching set of rims: box section or really low round profile, clincher, no colors just white aluminum, 32 hole and 40 hole. Looking for good users and I'm willing to buy several pairs of each hole count to make two or more 32/40 sets.
There's nothing out there new available in 32/40 that fits my criteria, and I'm not putting a set of Dyads on a 1950 RO Harrison. Not needing to stay completely true to the decade (I don't NEED Constrictors), so I'll happily use older Sun CR16 (maybe even CR18 but NLA new) Ambrosio, Wolber, Rigida, Weinmann, even Mavic MAs, just can't do a high triple wall or aero rim, at least not in good conscience.

What rim size are you looking for?

I have some NOS 27 inch and 700c 40 hole sets. I don't have 32 hole rims, but they're much easier to find than 40s.

Mine are a set of grey Nashbar 27s and a set of silver Mavic MA 2 in 700c

Have you looked at Grand Bois Papillon rims? They come in 28, 32, 36 & 40h. Their website is somewhat hard to navigate (unless you speak Japanese..), and shipping probably won't be cheap.

Do you need matching sets? I think I have something that meets that description, but only 32h. Maybe we can pair it up with a 40h match. Let me know; can check the shed of many bike parts.

Looking to trade my 175mm Deerhead FC-6206 crankset for a 170mm. Good to very good condition. I was fortunate enough to actually do a frame swap at a bike swap, trading my large Schwinn Cimarron for a medium. Would like to trade just arms, not rings and bolts. I have several other cranks I can trade as well. Willing to trade green stuff too.

Also, I don't want to call upon your generosity until I've completed the DL-1 that you already donated parts to. This would be for it's rear wheel, coincidentally, though the parts bin has already dictated it will be 700C.

I am looking for a 38-tooth Suntour freewheel cog, or an entire freewheel that includes one. As far as I know, there was only one version of these, which went on Perfect or Pro Compe bodies.

In exchange, I can put together pretty much any tooth counts you want on a five-speed Perfect body and send it to you as a complete freewheel. "Pretty much" because I may not have what it takes for a racing-type corncob. Beyond that, though, I probably have you covered.

Looks a bit rough but should clean up with a wire wheel and a coat of silver. 34t large ring.

Suntour FW body so it should come apart pretty easily.
