Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's a random D2C brand. They are going big on the marketing these day it seems like, although most have never heard. I doubt it will ever get as big as like Canyon, por ejemplo.

I feel pretty "meh" about the branding and "curb appeal", but all together it make me very happy. The price on the outlet model was just too good. I had narrowed it down to this or the Ibis Exie (also on sale)

Just got back from some riding:

2.5 hrs road, 2,000' climbing and 46 miles
15 min pit stop at home, cleat swap
1.5 hrs on the new MTB

Windy, but otherwise nice out.

Not sure about that lime green top cap.... the shop had it on the shelf and I wanted something cute. Might need something else.
Looks like a sweet ride!

When you decide on an accent color, tie it all together with matching stem cap, headset top cover, and seat post clamp. If your discs are centerlock, you can get matching lockrings, too. Whatever color you choose, the grips need to match something. If you like the purple, go with purple for all the other accents, too. (IMO, YMMV)

Today's less windy than yesterday, so I hit the road. I took the Battaglin, since this was my first midweek outdoor ride since November and I rode the Battaglin for the LAST midweek outdoor ride then. I love that bike! I was reminded why it was my Go-To bike for a decade. It just wants to GO!!! The ride is, shall we say, firm, even with the Corsas at 90/95 psi. Hard to believe I used to ride at 120 psi!

I could have ridden from home, but I didn't want to fight all the Moms picking up their kids from the 5 schools I'd have to pass in the first 2 miles of the route. So I drove over to Canada Rd and rode from there. 26 miles, 1150 feet of climbing

Did you ever get your SPD pedals working right? I bought some new ones recently and they seemed really hard to get in and out of even though I loosened the tension screws before riding.
Today I went after the adjustment again after spraying them with WD-40. Turns out they were not on the loose setting. I had to force the screws to turn (all 4 of them) but once I got them moving they were easy to turn and now they clip in and out much easier.

Nope, bike was at the shop for a while, and have not ridden it. Plan on throwing the garmins back on it for my gravel ride on monday. 75 miles 8500 feet of climbing. Yipppey.

Good idea. Wolf tooth has a cute "color shop" for that sort of stuff.

I do like the purple but the grips area bit too thick at 6.5 mm. When they wear out I will probably try some of the classic ESI's at 5 mm. They don't have as many colors unfortunately, but once I land on something I like, I can bling it out to match.

Nice, it was a pretty decent day, all things considered.

I was planning to do Mt. Hamilton today, but when I checked the weather station that said gusts to 57 mph, I wimped out.

So I just did a Woodside Store-Portola Valley Loop-Foothill Expressway cruiser. 40 miles, 1600 feet. Pretty day, shorts sleeves, it's about as green now as it gets.

Mrs. rjones28 definitely doesn't need a JCW Mini to get to the radio station.

I thought about extending my ride on out to Alpine and Portola, but I'm still dealing with the hip thing. Not a problem on the bike, but walking Rango around the neighborhood was an issue. I'm to young to be old.

BTW, If you look at the sky in both this picture and mine, you can see how blue the sky is. That's normal here. I will miss that, when I have that pale bluish white sky you get Back East in the Summer.

Have had four large dogs using doggie doors - one was solid wood with just a hinge at the top in the garage. They were all trained using liberal quantities of Milk Bones. Open the flap wide open - show the treat and they can’t resist. Then lower it a bit, treat. A bit more etc until the flap is closed but they know you have the treat waiting. Then come back to their side and have them watch your throw the treat through the door - they will go after it. Takes about 10 minutes.

I often yearn for a car with hand crank windows for some reason. I don't want a total fixer-upper though, there will surely be plenty of maintenance to do on a car that old.
