Upgrade from 9 speed to 10 speed if I have the parts?
So I have a 2008 Giant OCR1 with 9 speed Ultegra. I also have a 2010 Scattante (1/2 carbon) with 10 speed Ultegra. I like the Giant and the Scantante has got to go. Should I swap over the newer 10 speed Ultegra drivetrain and shifters to the Giant (and the 9 speed to the Scattante before sale)? I feel the answer here is yes, I'm really just kinda fishing for motivation to get a boot in my behind to do it.

Can you think of a single reason why you wouldn't want to make that component swap?

IF the 9 speed is working fine you are giving up a lot of riding time and possibly taking a hit on sale price on the Scattante in return for marginal performance benefit (although the 10 speed components may be more available down the road) and the chance that something will go wrong in the swap. SHOULD you do it? Not for me to say - anyway, notice my tag line below.
