2 ball bearing short? Will my kid die!

Hi,

I'm really getting into this idea of pulling apart and putting together bikes! Everything feels so much more smoother.

I overhauled another hub on an my son's bike and also the loose ball BB.

But I was unfortunately 2 ball bearings short of having them go all around both sides of the front wheel hub. I'm going to mail order the bearings since my LBS are stingy (won't sell them to me because they may run out ...). In the mean time, will my kid be in danger if they ride the bike? As I said everything spins beautifully now.

Generally leaving one "ball's" width empty on a bearing is a good thing. The balls shouldn't fit all of the way around tight against each other. There should be one "ball" missing on each side.

This was already covered in another thread of yours. Fill up the circle, remove one is good enough in pretty much all cases.
