Any recommendation for eye wear to keep bugs out?
I was wondering if anyone has any effective eye protection against bugs. I like to ride around the bike path near the river and some parts of the area are littered with those tiny bugs that likes to create a ball of swarming insects that I ride through and end up in my eye and such. I've even had a bee fly into my face. And on several occasion fly right into my eye causing a rash. I have normal sunglasses that I wear but it doesn't seem to help, especially riding through the swarm. They somehow seem to still fly under the sunglasses and again right into my eye, or at least very close to it. I also don't want it to look super funky or weird.

You can wear it underneath a helmet. I carry clear safety glasses for evenings & nights that will work well with this also. I never bicycle without eye protection.

I just bought a helmet that has the integrated sunglasses that slides out of the top and it seems like deflect bugs better than my sunglasses did. I think because air can't flow in from the top it flows from the top of the helmet down towards your chin and the gnats seem to blow right on by.

You really just need some close fitting sports sunglasses. Like Oakley's style glasses. Wraparounds I think is what they're called. They also make glasses that have rubber pads behind the rim so that they make a seal with your face, but still look like glasses.

Considered a tactical goggle, like the Wiley-X SG-1? Still look (mostly) like regular sunglasses, but should keep pretty much everything out of your eyes.

This is what you needs. Cycling glasses are made to keep thing including bugs out of your eyes. Other devices like goggles cloud up from heat, humidity, sweat, and even cold temps. They also will scratch

I use a pair of Oakley Flack Jackets for both cycling and running. They'll set you back $150-200 depending on exactly what combination of frames and lenses you get. They are absolutely brilliant glasses and I can't imagine riding without them. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I use safety glasses bought from Home Depot. The ones with metal arms so that I can attach my mirror to them. There are clear ones that I use for when it's dark or raining and also ones that are kinda clearish ever so slightly tinted that I use on sunny days. They are great and I've been cycling this way for a number of years. Just finished a cross country all summer tour, never any bugs or debris got under them.

the sky is the limit with Uvex. They make the kind that has the cushion around lense sorta like a goggle.
