What's on your Bike XMAS List 2015

-spd shoes/ghetto shoes?
-2015 bike helmet (mine is Giro from '95 and i just think technology has changed enough to argue an upgrade)
-decent headphones that dont hurt my ears or constantly fall out! (using the standard smartphone headphones and hate them)

Santa is bringing me something extra nice this year, a Specialized Epic full suspension mountain bike. My aching back and shoulders are telling me its time to trade up from the old hardtail 29er and into a full suspension rig this season.

The shoes are a must. Regarding helmets, isn't '95 era a bit old? I know that the recommendation for motorcycle helmets is to change them every 5 years (no joke) or if they have been dropped (again, no joke)

My next bike gift might well be in the spring; I'm shooting for a Specialized Diverge Comp DSW (alu) or Comp (CF). Gotta dream big(ger)...

Helmets don't last forever and over 5 years the helmet either has enough wear and tear or has been dropped enough times it should be replaced. Instead of waiting for Christmas, I tend to watch for sales during the year of my favorite helmets and keep an extra or two handy. If I fall or knock my head, new helmet is ready to go.

I can't think of anything I need... except maybe bike socks. Can't have enough and thank goodness cheaper than a bike!

for grins and giggles a group of us have been night riding on old rigid rigs... enough of that! This old body can't handle the jarring/bumps/jolts anymore... guess I have gotten soft and want my fully back.

You won't regret the change... hardtail or rigid can be fun, but not for the long haul...

What I want: Socks. What I will probably get: A really nice jersey. Maybe a Rapha or another DeSoto. What's hard is shopping for the GF. She has everything. Plus, her 14th birthday is only a few months later.

I'm asking for tools and reference books. I want to learn how to deal with more than a flat tire or ribbing brake pad.

Set of wheels for a new bike would make riding much more enjoyable.

I have a Giro Air Attack with visor helmet on my list, a couple jerseys, a power meter or rear wheel with power meter, new bib shorts (I keep shrinking), Tule Roof rack for my Beetle with a Vagabond cargo rack/bike carrier.

Maybe I will put some bib tights on the list for cold rides outside (likely though it will be icy and I will find myself riding inside on the trainer).

A visor is against the rules unless you are mountain biking.

A carbon Jekyll (Cannondale Mountain bike). Probably won't happen, so I'll settle for a custom set of wheels

I was going to wait until spring for a new bike and I should wait another year or two. e-assist motor, ear warmer headband type thing, and one of my grips is always slipping off. Instead of a new bike i could bling the current one out with new grips and pedals and something else maybe a seat. It has the basic pedals it came with. I hear metal hurts more when you hit them tho so, there's that. I was just thinking there was something i should have got last time at the bike shop and it was going to be awesome (maybe the seat). I also want a bmx to see if it helps me learn to bunny hop and to play around on, i'll have to see if a 6'2 person can ride one of them and i can also lend it to this guy who's bike is miserable. and a dropper post, thats probably the first thing. and what i thought would be awesome. probably need a new helmet but i'm partial to my old school melon skateboard helmet. and padded shorts which i have none of, and thats it, and a pony.

Just bought a 16 Cannondale synapse ultegra 3 with disc breaks and it's asked for a new Garmin 1000 to carry around.

What I really want for Christmas is a special riding partner. My wife is not sure if she can ride. The best gift I can think of, is having my wife as my riding partner.

May I ask why she is unsure about riding. It is pretty much a no impact activity so it is easy on the body and you pretty much can dial your level of effort as you see fit.
