C&V Ride with GPS group, anyone?
Prompted by this suggestion:
I have started a group on RideWithGPS.
You can find it here:
https://ridewithgps.com/groups/Bike-...ic-and-Vintage
We could potentially use it to plan rides.
I'm administrator, but I don't know how it works. Anyone interested? See if you can join.
RideWithGPS is a pretty good program. I use it for recording my longer rides and for planning routes. It has the best route planning interface I've seen.

Yes. I wanted to invite folks out my way, in Chester County. I have been sidelined by work and fixing up my decrepit house....I am hoping to get something mapped out in short order and maybe plan for late summer or early fall....roughly 100 miles or so. There will be hills.

I'm confused. I clicked on your link, but it keeps coming back here.

I was able to join, and I see a few have joined, but I do not see @fender1. This is good, because I can also add some people as friends. Until today, I was only seeing one other person's rides. @ascherer, you may want to join, too.

I joined as well - thoughts of a Strava group as well for those in that infrastructure (my bike club is going that direction) - then the data in both sites can be linked via tapiriik
https://tapiriik.com/#
just trying to be inclusive

Tapiriik worked like a charm, bringing all my strava rides into ride with gps. (Except for the photos)
For $5/yr, it will do it automatically (otherwise it is manual)
maybe I'll go dual for a while

No, you have to request to "add friend."

Does it count rides that aren't moving? Time and family commitments mean most of my rides are in the dark (and on the trainer).

ridewithgps imported all of my Garmin rides. I don't use my Garmin any more. It's less accurate than my iphone. The Garmin's GPS gets lost a lot.

Jim,
I think you are the guy that loaned me your pump on Cypress Mt and then we walked a bit together to the top of Cypress Mt.
i was looking at your Eroica pix on rwgpw and noticed that they were of many the folks I was with on the road, then recognized you.
