Chain lube?
Chain lube?
I've used many different lubes over the years and came across Rock N Roll Gold Chain Lube that LBS recommended. I bought a bottle to test it.
1. What lube do you used and like?
2. Your review of Rock N Roll Gold?

Never purchased anything that actually said "chain lube" on it, although I have considered it. Clean drive train, lube with whatever is handy that day, wipe off excess, ride.

Some enterprising BF member needs to come up with a "Dead Horse" brand chain lube so we can all say we use that.

This isn't beating a dead horse, it's killing and beating an entire herd. This subject has been worked to death countless times here on BF and on other forums.
There will never be an end, because everyone has his own set of priorities, ie. lubrication under extreme pressure, cleanliness, ease of application, weather resistance, service life and cost. That's 6 variables, and it's not a complete list.
Among other things, riding conditions will affect how these are ranked by any one user, so someone in Portland or Seattle, will have very different needs from someone in Phoenix. Likewise, some people commute in varying weather, some are only sunny day riders, some ride dirt, some only paved.
So stick everything in the hopper, turn the crank a few times, then put on a blindfold and pull out today's winner.
BTW - you have a bottle of R&R, instead of asking a bunch of strangers, put it on your chain and see for yourself. If you're happy, that's it. If not, decide what you want to change, and look for another product based on that.

I tried giving an honest answer saying there was no one answer. (though I do have a personal preference)
In any case, you already paid for the product, and claim to have experience with others, so shouldn't be surprised that folks tell you to use it and decide for yourself.
If you want the short answer about R&R Gold, it's a decent product, which is easy to apply and tends to stay fairly clean. On the downside, it has a relatively shorter service life and isn't very rain resistant. So fastidious fair weather riders may like it, but foul riders may hate it.

It's not that we're snobs or ****heads. It's that this question is asked so often and is unanswerable because of all the variables. You might as well ask what's the best beverage: beer, wine, water, soda, juice, etc. or more specifically which within either category.

To OP, I never tried that brand. However I needed some chain oil once, looked at all the answers on BF, and no one had the same answer. So I cleaned chain with wd40, saw some white lithium spray grease in the tool box and used it, it worked fine, now that's all I use.

It isn't JUST the lube that's used. You need to make sure the chain is properly cleaned. That's why I go to the frig and get out a pickle and some salt-free butter. Good for the chain... good for the environment.
I've both read and heard good things about Rock N Roll Gold Chain Lube.

I'm a Pro-Link guy myself, but I may have to get a bottle of Chain-L just for the label. Well done.

Sorry guys, I dropped the No.5 about 3 years ago as I started selling more in Europe where I had no protection form a possible trademark infringement suit. It seems that French and Euro judges don't have the sense of humor of those who serve on the US Supreme Court, and place free expression and parody above trademark protection.
