Don't know, but you should call Wahoo. My Garmin chest strap started acting up, I called them, and got a new one in the mail in a few days. There isn't much you can do to fix a misbehaving one as a consumer.

Never had that issue with a BlueHR or TICKR. Call Wahoo.

This would be my suggestion as well. Since this problem is happening on two different Garmins, you can rule out the Garmins as the cause of the problem. I've got my TICKR connected to an iPhone and haven't had any issues with it. Wahoo should replace it for you.

How did you do the hard reset?

Did you wash by hand?

A guy in another thread ruined his in the washing machine.

I had irregular reading with my polar chest strap and I changed to another brand and still had a problem turned out the the problem was with my heart. Apparently certain types of irregular heart beat can cause problems as the electrical signals are somewhat screwed up. It might be something to check if you have a problem with multiple units.

I was getting a lot of dropouts and errors with chest straps (Garmin and Suunto) until I started using this conductive adhesive found on Amazon - "Tensive Conductive Adhesive Gel - Parker Laboratories - 50g Tubes". It's not really that sticky but it gives a good contact. It rinses off the strap with a little water.
