Much Reduced Fleet!
As you guys know, I have been reducing the fleet...and really fighting n+1. I am down to 6 bikes...
I was fortunate with my Raleigh collection...it went to a gentleman over in Birmingham, AL that is a true Raleigh collector...and he got all of my old Raleighs...along with a few others (such as the English made Royal Enfield).
1972 Schwinn Super Sport (my son has a similar one)
1980 Raleigh Super Course (again, mirroring one that my son has)
1981 Miyata 1000 LT...my "mile munching Miyata" that I love
1985 Bianchi Veloce...the "gift" that a good friend from NH gave me on my 50th birthday...and my trainer bike
1993 Tommassini Super Prestige..."Ghostrider"...one that I truly LOVE riding
2005 Pinarello Surprise..."Pinot"...my main rider...
For FULL documentation...and your enjoyment...pics...

Looks to be a nice all around collection which runs the spectrum from the "Everybody's Bikes" (Schwinn and Raleigh) to "Solid Do Anything Bikes" (Miyata and Bianchi) to "Serious Connoisseur Bikes" (Tommasini and Pinarello). Nicely thinned!
I didn't know you had a NH connection. What part of the state does your friend live in and do you have the chance to visit soon?

Those make for a good, well rounded collection, Duane, I'm very glad that you are hanging on to some of your bikes still. From experience cycling will be a great management tool and something to base your recovery on. Enjoy these survivors of "The Great Purge"

Where's a pic of the pinarello? Enquiring minds want to know.

A Raleigh collector here in de'ham? I wonder who it is - I rarely see anyone riding old, but not campus, bikes - except for a couple of us. There was an International hanging in a now closed shop, maybe that bike's owner is this collector.

Concur. I have much the same philosophy, with bikes covering the spectrum from mountain to transportation to sport touring to fast riding to collectible.

I told Mrs. Gomango that my dwindling collection of bikes would make ample room for a new vintage car to restore. ![Smilie](images/smilies/smile.gif)

I hope you're doing well enough to ride and enjoy it.
And hopefully THIS brain will actually work.![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
(Man, these brain jokes never get old, do they?)
(Let me know if they do get old- It's good to have you around)

Hi Bob...he lives over near the coast...and...my wife and I lived in Amherst for about 3.5 years...so have a definite attachment to NH...although my wife never really liked it (lots of reasons!).

Bill...absolutely! Riding becomes more the priority now as opposed to collecting...and...so far, I feel that I have gotten my "collection" into the right peoples' hands...

Outstanding Duane, simply outstanding. I'm a firm believer in cycling being beneficial in managing Parkinson's disease, and it should be the same for your recovery. Lots of studies on how exercise of different types can benefit those battling the issues from these types of disease. Keep up the riding and keep us posted on how you are progressing please.
And, don't let the short time period get you discouraged, when I got started back following the numerous surgeries, it was 2 miles a day, just under 12 minutes, for several months. Enjoy the small victories and what progress that you receive.

I'm really impressed by how differently you have each bike set up. Different saddles, different handlebars, different orientations of bars and levers. I think that's really cool. Glad to hear the recovery is going well. Hopefully you'll be outside, munching the miles on all those sweet bikes, very soon.

Yeah, I'm with your wife, I wouldn't want to live in southern NH with all that population (as if Alpharetta doesn't have a dense population)! Up here in the mountains (near Mt. Sunapee & Mt. Kearsarge) where we don't have traffic lights nor fast food joints nor big box stores, is the place to live. I was down to the coast on Sunday and while that is nice, I'd glad to be in the mountains and on fresh water lakes!
