Visually it is different but is there anything else to be gained . A little more speed? More leg room?

Saddle fore/aft position should be established for efficient pedaling and good balance. Everyone's body is different. Some folks need a set back post to achieve the best position.

On a cruiser - unlikely.
They're usually rather slack angled from the start.
On a regular frame - sometimes. Depends on frame and rider preference.

I use the K.O.P.S. method, (Knee Over Pedal Spindle) to get close enough and feel fine tuning Is not needed on this bike.
I did toss the crappy seat post and clamp, It was heavy and just plain crappy.
Had a super nice Bontrager post with a modern clamp In my parts bin, perfect fit, light and secure.

My local bike shop noticed and called that a definite hippy part, a $50 seat post on a $79 bike..

IMHO Op,
Your knee's will speak up first If your saddle/pedal fit Is a problem on any bike.

FWIW I had about a full Inch of seat rail I could move the seat back and forth, I moved It back 3/4"
That put me right on KOPS and It felt better.

I installed one on a tandem cruiser I rebuilt. It gave me enough leg room and reach, but never felt quite right. Other than cosmetic, the only purpose I see for a layback seat post is trying to make a bike that's too small fit - and that's rarely a good idea.

Crank forward bikes will be like a really laid back seatpost... those are flat foot stop convenient.

After some lazy miles I moved my seat back forward that 3/4" due to a little knee pain,
That fixed it and now I can put some watts In the wheel when a car or pedestrian wants to get Involved with me.
