Legalize My Cannondale
Snagged this frame and am in the process of building it up with Sram Red 10 and tubular wheels in hopes of keeping her at 14 lbs or less.

Power Cordz, seat and post, bar and stem and wheels. 14# should not be all that hard. How much are you going to spend?
Is that a bare Six13?
I have a 2001 Six13. No interest in changing.

Nice find. Unless you plan on racing in UCI events, 14.99 is just a number. Fun to go lighter if the pocketbook allows it.
Make sure you post pics afterwards.

That's my bike. I have a pile of bikes, mostly bought for my kid, but for me to take/use. S-Works Venge/tarmac/Shiv,FELT DA 2, MASI cx, Evolutionize and more.
That is the bike I ride.
It does not spec out as well as others, but for me it feels good. Carbon where it matters, alloy where it matters.
Chippo did well on it.

Why does there appear to be a bulge at the front of the top tube?

It's most likely a 2006 Lampre version, which was offered in bare aluminum with just graphics. That would have been the easiest version to strip bare. 2006 was also the first full year of the two-tube version. The previous version had a carbon seattube too.
I had an 05, with the three carbon tubes. I broke it. It's in the shed still.
Also, the Slice Premium Plus fork that came on a lot of those was really nice and super light. I don't think you have that fork though, as the Plus had carbon dropouts.

Cool thanks for the info. The seller said he bought just the frame from a Cannondale rep who had 3 completely bare frames with no graphics and no forks. So it's newer than I thought. Love learning about bicycles and their history.

A Google image search would seem to show that it's normal.

One thing that I discovered is that tubular wheels tend to be quite a bit lighter than clincher wheels. And, there are some lightweight tubular tires too.
So, for example, the Zip 303 is listed as: Tubular Set: 1390g, Clincher set: 1625g. The Zipp 202 is listed at 1180g per set.
Tufo sells an Elite tire at less than 125g per tire.
Although, I might choose a slightly more durable model. And, of course, added glue, but no added tube.

I think the lightest road tire is the Elite Jet @ 150g. Using track tires is pushing it IMO.

It's a really interesting frame. First of all, it doesn't have the standard shift cable stops, but you can see the nubs where they were supposed to be welded on - or is it that they were welded on, but someone cut them off and polished the remaining nubs? Because, secondly, clear-coated Six13 frames have a brushed finish, and that one appears to have been polished. It seems a little strange that they would have gone through the trouble of polishing if it was some prototype, but who knows, maybe it was a standard step in the production process. Definitely a unique frame in any case, I would love to know more about its history.
