shipping bikes

Have any of you found a cheaper way to ship bikes? As I have confronted Fed Ex and UPS the cost is just prohibitive. 250 each way. Plus boxing costs

I think that you can get USPS to ship to a USPS location where you can pick it up. FedEx ground is about 1/4th of what you're quoting but of course that means that the starting and ending point have to be in the US lower 48.
