Contental Contact 32mm on 22mm internal width rim????
I have a spare set of rims that I measured to have about a 21.5-22mm internal rim width they are about 25mm wide on the outside. I would like to put a set of 32mm Continental Contact on for some road use. So the tire would be about 7mm wider than the rim - so it should protect from pinch flats. I would probably run about 75-80 psi in the 32mm tires.
Any issues with 32mm tire on a 21.5-22mm internal rim width?

I believe the stock rims on the 2012 Trek DS 8.3 was close to that width & came with 35 stock. I've went to a 28 & didn't have any issues. Shouldn't be an issue to size up in your case, but it comes down to the brand, type of tire, & purpose.

According to a chart from Sheldon Brown (a noted and much-celebrated bike expert who cataloged enormous amounts of useful bike data online during his life), the "optimal" rim width would be 17mm or so for a 32mm tire. Your rim is shown as on the edge of acceptable, but Sheldon notes that the chart is conservative.
In practice I don't think you'll have a problem with 32mm tires on that rim. Probably wouldn't go much smaller, though.

Are these disc only rims?
As far as the tire fitting, I wouldn't have a problem with your selection.

One of my wheelsets currently has 28mm and 32mm Conti GP 4 Seasons on HED Belgium Plus rims, which are around 21mm internal width. It works great. HED specs this rim for an incredible 23-58mm width range. That's right, they say it's fine to run a 23mm tire on a rim with a 25mm external width. Personally I've always found that particular Sheldon Brown chart sketchy and generally ignore it.

Not an issue at all. BITD I used 17mm wide rims on my mtb with 2" (50mm) wide tires without any trouble for years... I didn't even realize there could be a problem until I read about recommended rim/tire widths on BF.
