Jeep bike carrier options?
I have a Jeep Wrangler and am looking for an alternative to a traditional spare tire or trailer hitch bike carrier.
I would prefer some type of all purpose cargo rack solution.
Has anyone used a trailer hitch cargo rack to regularly transport a bike without a lot of modification?
Better yet, is there something made to do this that I have missed while searching online?

I used to have a Wrangler Rubicon with a soft top. I mounted a safari rack which could carry bikes, luggage, or even support a tent. I could unlatch it to fold it back, which allowed me to raise or lower the top.The rack bolted on to the hinge mounts on the sides of the windshield pillars and rear door. I forget the name of the maker, I sold my Jeep when I moved to Japan. But these were made by a number of companies, and are perfectly good for mounting bike racks to, so long as you are careful around drive-thru's and low trees.

but, I have a hitch haul style cargo tray for my Cherokee. I also have a cpl hitch style bike racks. having those bike racks I can't imagine why I would want to convert the cargo tray into a bike rack
I don't understand the advantage other than not having to buy something else & store it when not in use
