Inexpensive 180mm cranks?
Do budget 180 mm cranksets exist ? I have a long inseam just short of 90cm so I want to see how I fare with longer cranks.
The second hand 180 cranks on ebay are very expensive , new ones cost more than the bikes I want to put them on many times over. Do they make cranks this lenght for the lower end shimano lines ?

If you have a euro threaded bottom bracket you may also be able to make it work. Just mind the spacing.
I think that if you really try to figure out the spacing and the bottom bracket and the alignment, and get it right, then you can probably get a set of bmx cranks working.
I've seen it done before.

Check eBay for SRAM Apex if you're looking for 2x road cranks - I bought a new pair a few years ago for $110.

Those SRAMs look like they are very similar. Definitely very good looking set of cranks.
I think his particular caveat was that he needed 180mm crankst hough. Which are probably very rare, and very expensive specialist cranks probably keep popping up in his searches.

SRAM Apex was indeed readily available in 180mm for road bikes; I also have a few pair of SRAM Rival that cost only $140 new on eBay. Again, that was a a few years ago.

What type of bottom bracket o you have? BB30, square taper, or ???. You can get BBs for square taper set-ups fairly cheap (<$100 USA), but the other varieties can get a little expensive if you just want to experiment with different lengths.
Is there a local bike shop near you that might have a bicycle in stock with 180mm cranks? If so give it a test ride to get an idea of what they feel like before purchasing one.

Have you done a fit yet? Do you know that 180mm cranks are the way to go? You will likely be much more comfortable on your bikes after visiting a fitter and getting a good dynamic fit you might also find your crank length doesn't need to change saving you from having to buy a lot of cranks.
