Vintage Shimano sprocket / freewheel body question

Question: I know these are 5-speed components, correct? Are they capable of being used in 6 speed configurations? The freewheel body’s part number is 121 9006

Unless you are willing to experiment with sprocket spacer thickness, I can't see how that body could be used to mount six cogs.

I believe that the cog pictured might fit on a newer body having nine splines, for what that's worth.

One possibility to try would be Regina compact spacers (but they are not easy to find). The three tab Shimano and three tab Regina sprockets are very close to the same inside diameter for the opening which fits over the body. IIRC, the Shimano sprockets are a slightly tight fit on a Regina body. So Regina should be a slightly loose fit on a Shimano body. However, my guess would be that the stack height to the ledge would not line up.

You'd be better off looking for a compact spaced Atom or Suntour 6 speed freewheel.

I was able to make a 3 tab sprocket fit by a judicious amount of work with a file. It did not take much work at all but it allowed a sprocket fit a body which would not initially fit.

This was a something like a Suntour or Regina sprocket being used on a Dura Ace body. The brands are not the important part of the story. I still have and use that freewheel.
