Paramount Track P229

Adding this thread to get some more discussion, yes it was over priced, yes its gone, but its pretty rare so.....

It was in the wacky thread so flew under the radar.

Merziac,
I am not an early Paramount expert but you seemed to have some insights on this one...care to share a bit more?
What about other P experts, does "Stan" still frequent this site?
Interested in what others have to say as well.
Best, Ben

DOH!

That potentially makes it earlier, maybe.

Its obviously been painted and violated but appears to be mostly intact.

Crank, bars, stem and maybe headset are original, "keyhole lugs" a Wastyn trademark , BB zerk, P229 S/N is another possible Wastyn tell.

Here's another that is a 1950 that is almost identical so....

Waterford calls out the keyhole lugs and the P2-3 digit S/N and that he built most in the early days and continued into the 50's.

xiaoman1 , insights on this one...care to share a bit more?
Paramount frame P229 best guess 1947-1948. its been repainted, headbadge is newer. some one put a grease fitting in the oil port hole
Is it a track frame or tourist? Can't tell for sure. Front fork apears to have racing bend. rear looks to have too much wheelbase, notice axel is at front of fork end , tire barely makes it to 46 tooth tourist chain ring
there is a good chance this is a tourist frame with the fender tabs cut off to make it apear to be a racing frame.
crankset apears to be a Paramount , can't tell from the picts if it takes 1/2" tourist or 9/19" racing pedals but it does have a 1/2 inch picth tourist chain ring on it., my guess it is a tourist crank.
headser appears to be right.
stem appears to be from that time frame.
seatpost , dont know.
wheels, handelbar, seat, and brakes newer.

P*** serials start around 1947 and end around 1950, could be a late 70’s repair or just refinish.
