The dog is on a high fiber diet.
Dogs have a history of chasing bikes. Now they have something else to gnaw on once they catch it.

That made my day somehow...
Yeah, I do hope the dog is OK. I can't imagine eating carbon fiber is a good thing.

Doesn't look too bad; I'd ride that.

eek, reminds me of the time my Maine Coon got hold of a chicken bone.
I hope the rear wheel is ok!! Both for the rider's sake and the dog's.
Once had a dog, off-leash in an area that definitely had leash law, run across the road straight into my rear wheel as I was booking about 25mph with a tailwind. Heard a bit of a twang and saw the dog got ejected somersaulting in my rear view mirror. Seems this could have happened the same way.

When I lived i Idaho I carried bear spray in my second water bottle cage on my road bike for bears and moose, maybe I should do that in PDX for dogs too?

Uhmmm..... Bull Terrier?........ Never mind the bike it mangled up, despite the sharp and splintery CF, but I sure hope that dog is not developing bad and scary tendencies.

Our doodle chewed every single thing in the house for two years. Probably causing thousands in damage if we cared to count it. He's not terrifying.

I wonder, though. If like a cat with a roll of toilet paper, the thing might well not eat any of it. Just the sheer, unfettered joy of destruction and mayhem. Have seen pets do a number on upholstered furniture, cracking open the coverings and sending the contents all over creation; and, with those, to my knowledge none of the contents were actually eaten.

Yeah, hopefully. Would probably get stuck everywhere, poke holes in the "plumbing," and whatnot.

^ Ah, so that's the perp, eh? A likely suspect! Completely chagrined after the talking-to. Or, more likely still, probably knew full well it was verboten and slumped the moment the two-legger walked into the room.
Imagine the big weepy eyes and what the "mumbling" would say if the little guy could talk:

It is a well known fact that dogs, and other pets, can have jealousy issues. The owner of this Specialized carbon fiber bike was getting too many miles and too much riding time taking away from the time with his/her bull terrier. The bull terrier waited for his/her opportunity and took care of the situation.
BTW I don't talk this way usually. I was channeling my inner Cliff Clavin.
What is the difference between a terrorist and bull terrier???
You can negotiate with a terrorist.
