26inch MTB Tires for a good price.

Haven't brought any in over a year and looking online it seems prices have gone up a lot and the selection and quality is down on the major online retailers. Looking for a all around light nobby for trail dirt road riding on some semi beater level bikes so basically something in the under $30 range shipped there were a lot of nice choices last year around this time on Walmart and Amazon but almost nothing right now. Nearly everything that isn't damn ugly is out of stock or discountenued.. Hoping some one here can point me to some possible good deals. I'm just really surprised how much prices have gone up and selection has gone way done.

I'm surprised that you're surprised. The global pandemic has drastically affected the global supply chain on everything from food to electronic circuitry and even bikes/bike parts. This has been in the news for awhile and has highlighted the fragility of most markets. But I digress....
I managed to order and get a pair of MAXXIS DTH 26" tires (more file-tread than light knobby) from BikeINN October 2020. Not sure what their stock is now but they were $85 CAD for the pair.

Yeah, I think the window has closed for the season on getting good prices on tires. I jumped on some really cheap Conti Cruisers in febuary at chainreaction solely for the reason that I foresaw rising prices on flipper consumables.

no amazon = no bezos, for me. ebay is at least better in a number of ways, so i always check there for good tire prices. if i had the money (just bought a new fork...engh) there's a lightly used set of panaracer fire cross 45c going cheap right now

The hunt for decent tires is truly disappointing. I consider myself extremely lucky to have recently gotten a pair of 26 x 1.5 Panaracer Paselas at a LBS. They're on a middling 98 Trek 6000 MTB which is still amazingly healthy and satisfying, making it an almost everything bike that feels good on a bunch of recent 15-25 mile road rides.

Well I guess since there for semi nice pandemic clunker challenge builds I may just have to splurge to get some nice tires. Both the bikes I'm looking for tires for just look so great and I got them color schemed nearly perfect on a nothing budget so I can't see putting a set of ugly yellow label Kenda's on either them.
