Danny Macaskill for the masses... OK, Maybe Not !

So knowing this should be posted in the 'Trials' forum - and is well known there and MTB (oh, there is no Trials forum ?)
Danny is special enough to really be in the attention of the entire cycling communities.
Over the years he has thrilled me to the point of realizing I have to take a breath...
It's not just his skills, it's his vision of what can be done, and the flow and rhythm of the 'doing' - and certainly the making of the videos/films. They have 'soul'.
This is just one I recently saw, after drifting away from cycling in general and also not following Danny's work. But now back on the rebound.
All of his are special, and they are numerous.
I wish him continued good life, health and hope for good outcomes in the future...
... be out there - leave no trace...

It’s a big cyclverse.
Some of it hugely amazing
but too big to take it all in.

Go Danny!

His core strength and balance are absolutely unreal to me. Cant even imagine having that.

...wonder if he created any strava segments?

Yeah Danny Mac is an amazing talent and comes across as such a humble guy. He reminds me of Candide Thovex in the ski world.

I saw a behind the scenes commentary from him about his videos a while back. Some of the stuff he does take literally hundreds of tries. So add to his core strength and balance, the ability to come off the bike without killing yourself and supernatural perserverance.

True, some of the tricks in videos like The Gymnasium he gets right on 200th take, then again the epic mountain videos like The Ridge in the OP, or the more recent The Slabs leave no room for error - if you don't get it right on the first take, you're tumbling down the rocky mountainside for several hundred meters.

Gee Atherton's crash is a chilling reminder of the risks these guys are taking:

There are 2 things in particular that make Danny stand out and make me admire him.

1- His videos don’t get caught up in hucking huge things or singular high consequence stunts (though it does happen). They focus on his incredible talent which displays itself constantly over any terrain.

2- He highlights riding terrain as he finds it - whether it be natural or urban. His brilliance is in how he interprets and works with what is there in front of him.

here's hoping neither Dann nor Gee (again) visit the 'place' where Gee went...
What they're doing is ... fantastic... and very risky... risks they accept, but the effect on loved ones can be devastating.
hope the angel continues to sit on both their shoulders...

I think Danny Daycare is probably my favourite. And that girl is dead cute! My family like Gymnasium best, though.
