Paramount Seat Lug Star?
What is the significance of this star on the seat lug on my 1974 Paramount Road Racer?

Great response shoota !
There are several stamps that were used on Schwinn models, including Super Sports, Sports Tourers, and Paramounts. Usually we have seen these stamps on the bottom of the BB shell. It has to do with the frame builder, IIRC.
Can you post full pictures of the frame?

upon enlarging the picture it appears that the marking was put in post painting
if it had come from the manufacturer one would expect it to have been put in prior to painting
one possibility might be a marking put in by a licensing agency
in my state of California at the time this bicycle was sold each municipality which licensed bicycles had their own symbol they would stamp into the frame
the six pointed star was a symbol employed by the city of Berkeley, California

Originally purchased from Stone’s Cyclery in Alameda, Ca. This would give credence to ID stamping for tracing.

I’d be interested in the Super Sport stamps too. I would also think that some folks on a high end bike might get a bit offended with someone marking their frame.

Name finally pulled from memory, Don Mainland, in Wisconsin.
