Zwift Help - Start Up
Fellow Zwifters:
I've been using Zwift for just about a month, and really enjoy it.
My equipment:
Salsa Warbird
Trainer: CycleOps Fluid 2
Sensors: Cadence & Speed (Garmin)
I run Zwift from my WIN10 laptop, HDMI cable to a flat screen.
I have start-up of the program. I'm always prompted to "Always Use This App". is checked, by "OK" is not an option (fuzzed out). See screen cap below
I then have to re-open the Zwift program, then it will log me in, connect my sensors and then Ride.
Sometimes, instead of logging me in,a Zwift info screen is up. I can't exit out of it, but again have to reopen the program to by-pass it. That happens 90% of time.
Not a deal breaker,just annoying.
Is that just a WIN 10 glitch? Zwift has been continually updating, including an update today.
I use the Companion app on my phone, which works well (seldom have a use for it)

I run it on win 10 and I have never seen that pop up. OTOH, I definitely have gotten to the scrolling screen and never entered the game. Usually after an update, which often takes many tries to start up after.
I think in your case I might uninstall and reinstall

Searching for ms-gamingoverlay online, it doesn't appear to be a Zwift issue; it's related to the Windows Game Bar. See here for a solution.

Have you Googled msgamingoverlay? It came up with the "fixes" below. I haven't read them as I use a Mac for Zwift, but it looks like you can resolve it by following these instructions.

Bingo - that fixed it! I had "Gaming" and "Game Bar" both enabled. I wonder if during install, they were turned on.
I don't game, so they were turned off - Zwift started without issue.
Thanks, I've been scratching my head on that one for a month!

It's formatted like it's part of the OS, so I figured it's just MSFT trying to be a pain somehow.

I think something slides in from the side and asks me if I want zwift to be on that after I have started the game. Monitor is small and on the floor, text is very small, and I don't wear my glasses on the trainer so I am not sure.

Yeah, I'm used to seeing windows notifications slide in from the bottom. This is weird because it comes in a little higher than the taskbar from the right. I have never been motivated enough to get off the bike and see what it says, and it may go away before I can get within the required distance. I get the same thing in trainerroad.
I don't recall what the card is, it's a $20 computer. I did have to swap cards with another $20 computer because zwift wouldn't run.
