wider/longer rear axle

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any of you have seen where the rear axel seems to be longer/wider so that another person can stand behind?
Health and safety aside , just wondering if any of you know or understand that I'm looking for?

Cheers

There is something that kids use with BMX bikes called "Pegs".

They screw onto the end of solid screw-on type axles.

Voila!!! I knew those things exist!
I just don't know the right terminology for it. Thank you so much!
I presume that can be used on road bikes or gravel bikes too? I'm not sure if the thread size is normally standard size.

it's an old road bike frame that has been refurbed and converted it to a single speed city bike.
I think the size for the nut for rear axel is M9. do the pegs come in same size?

If your bolt on style axle extends far enough outside the frame dropouts, then you
can use pegs with nonthreaded holes and the original axle nuts to hold them mounted
in place.

Many BMX axles are 3/8 x 26tpi.

But, I've found that on some solid multi-speed bolt on wheels with freewheels.

You will need to verify your axle threading. I'm seeing some 10x1mm pegs on E-Bay.

I have successfully converted a solid axle to quick release (replacing axle, cones, locknuts, etc). It is possible if you want a 3/8 axle, you could find all the parts to swap.

Some pegs may have an unthreaded hole, and take a locknut inside.
