Need help identifying an old(?) tool.
Was looking through the attic at my parent’s place and found an old Park Tool folding hex set with a completely metal build. This includes the handle and there is no plastic throughout the entire thing. I didn’t realise that Park Tool sold any tools without the plastic on so I was wondering how old it was. I can’t include photos as I made this account to try and figure out how old this was and I have to make many threads to be able to post photos. It ranges from 1.5-6mm with 7 hex keys and has a circular dip in the middle of the handle.

I have a similar all-metal Park tool, the AWS-4, with the same dimple in the case. Mine is simpler having only 4, 5 and 6 mm hex keys and flat and Phillips screwdriver blades. I believe I bought it in the late '80's.

I've got a tool that looks exactly like the AWS-5 pictured. Except it says STANLEY U.S.A. and is number NO. 69-218. Bought it in the mid-80s when I started cycling.

Park's skills early on were very metal focused/based. I would expect that they designed a tool they could make completely in house first. Then after the product proved successful and the production volume justified it they either made a mold for their plastic injection line or they (more likely IMO) jobbed out the plastic part.
This "initial version being made one way and with version .2 another way" is true with other of their products. Andy
