Sakae Ringyo Litage CX

Hey all, I have what appears to be an early 90's Sakae Ringyo Litage Cross bike that I picked up several months ago from a swap and shop. It came to me with a rough attempt at a spray paint job and I thought, why not?! I'll strip it down and re-paint it.

I was having the hardest time trying to figure out the history of this frame and the only results I could find were throwing around partnerships with 3Rensho, but it didn't really look that promising. I'm happy to hear from any of you about what you might think. It didn't come to me with a fork, so it has a non-original tange fork in the photos.

It's not a Litage road frame due to the clearance and canty posts, and it's not a MTB due to the 700s and the Canty-to-axel distance.

UK Sales Listing found from a Pedalroom post:

Pedalroom Post: (My frame doesn't have the rack mounts on the top of the rear triangle)

Bikeforums Post linking these frames with 3Rensho?:
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage-bicycles-whats-worth-appraisals/1179043-3rensho-1990-s-sakae-sr-litage-aluminum.html

Here is the finished photo. I will post the journey this frame took after it came to me.

When removing the paint, I came across this image lightly stamped in the head badge area. It looks like one of those circus monkeys with cymbals in its hands. I don't know what it is supposed to mean...

This is probably the best view of this.

I don't notice much flexing. It's been a pretty smooth ride!

It’s probably my articles / posts you read about the Liteage 3Rensho connection. I linked some pages of the Liteage catalog to my article on djcatnap.com. However, this is the first time I’ve seen a cantilever-brake version.

Your website is actually new information for me! I'll throw the hyperlink below for other people who come across these frames. I'm still not sure if I can or cannot use the 3Rensho branding on this bike, as I'm sure that would increase the value of it!

I think the hidden monkey on the head tube is such an amazing gem. It is a shame it was not deep enough to save and use in your repaint.

sakaesakae I could not find any photos online of 3Rensho-branded Litage cross bikes, only road and mountain bike versions. Could you share photos of a 3Rensho SR Litage cross?
