Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Vittorio Rubino Pro tires

Anyone use these? Also, they only handle 110psi where my current tires handle 120psi. What are the negative ramifications of a lower psi?

crap, i put 120 in um. So far so good. they have about 500 miles on um with no complaints. I use um for training. No nicks or cuts. This is a big plus because of all the hicks around here throwing beer bottles out of their cars and onto the road.

i have had them before. they performed just fine. but i hardly ever notice any differences between tires. and if i do, i quickly get used to it after a ride. BTW: i always put 115-120 PSI in.

Fantastic Tires without a doubt.

My 2006 Rubino Pro's say they can handle 130psi.

I've been using them for several years with great success. FYI: The max psi is 120 on the older models and 140 psi on the '06 version.

I have one on the front wheel with about 4,000 miles on it with no problems and should be able to get a fair number of more miles from it. The rear blew out in a crash last summer, but it was a good tire prior to that incident.

Wow I had just the opposite luck with mine. Less than 200 miles (@110psi) numerous pinch flats, I never get pinch flats, and several cuts. I love my Vittoria CX clinchers and tubulars on my race wheels but I'm going back to my Vreds or Conti's for training.

I'll give the thumbs-up for these tyres. I bought some last year for a new bike, and wanted to get something "nice" (I'm used to 23mm Conti Utra Gatorskins on my everyday/commute road bikes). The 23mm Vittorias have a very nice feel. Compared to the Contis, they seem softer at the same 120 psi pressure. Recommended.

I like mine. They roll and grip nicely and I've had no flats over approx 2000 km.

One of the two started developing little gaps between the coloured and black tread but some superglue fixed that. It's not getting worse and the other tire is perfect so I'll chalk that up to being a "monday" tire. Tires were OEM with my bike so I didn't feel like going through the hassle to get the bad on ereplaced.

Coloured tread are bad for tire life. The all black tires will last longer. So it comes down to if you like coolness or durability.

No ramification what so ever. I'm 175lbs and run mine at 95 and 100psi. Last season I got 4800 km out of a set and they ride great. On Saturdays ride my rear tire went through a gap in a sewer grate at 25km/h. It bounced me 6 inches in the air but no pinch flat. I'll never run high PSI's anymore.

I'm happy with 'em. I don't run 'em at max PSI, either.
