Reportedly, the stunt man really was doing 50+ in the long shot. That is not very far fetched; motor paced bicyclists can go a lot faster. The closeup is a well known technical error.

Lots of dump trucks/semis/military vehicles around here, and in a draft it's not at all uncommon to hover around 50 for a little bit. Unsafe as all hell, but not impossible or all that hard...

Correct.
Cipollini and Scirea got a ticket on the autostrada for drafting a Smart at about 90kmh in 2004, IIRC.

I think in an ideal situation, like having some sort of a hill and a massive tt ring, drafting a semi at 60 would be doable for a short while.

I drafted a firetruck once when I was on an charity ride and it couldn't get around a bunch of cyclist in
front of it. Fortunately it wasn't in a hurry and just kind of hung out doing 30 mph or so. Boy, it never
felt so easy to go so fast!!!! it was AWESOME!
