Peugeot Can you tell me what year it is? Is it a good find?

I bought this Peugeot 12 Speed Bike off somebody for an undisclosed amount (until I know if I got had or not). I had Helicomatic Rims that were bent beyond repair, but I changed them out with another set of 27" rims. I added some aerobars, got it tuned up and trued, etc. Can you tell me more about it? Thanks.

UO-10, a basic entry-level road bike with Carbolite 103 carbon steel frame. Not bad, but nothing special, either. (My UO-8 is a delightful commuter and a passable cyclocrosser.)

John E,

I don't think it's a luged frame, I'll run home again and guess a P8 .

It sounds a lot like that P8... What year would you say it is from the paint because it doesnt match yours.

David,

I'm not 100% sure how to tell what year it is, I'm working on collecting Peugeot catalogs,

Here's what I have so far,

From the '82 Catalog, looks like it has the Checkerboard decals.

And in '84 it looks like the P8 had decals similar to yours.

Peugeot like to change things around...allot, I have a P6 I got in a Bike-A-Thon in.. May '85 (I think) Hard to remember stuff from when you were 7! That has the '82 Decals, and Shimmano shifters. Which it should never have had if it had been a leftover '82.

I know the Hub was a Helicomatic. So its not that pink 82 one. The P* sounds the closest. Is there a spot on the fram that can help me out? There are no model markings that I can find.

It also has Weinmann brakes, but I think the friction shifters are shimano

How much would you say it is worth on eBay?

Peugeot used a paper tag on the bottom bracket shell, obviously, most of the time these are long gone.

Worth? Can't help you much there, I have no idea.

yea I heard they used paper tags, how lame is that?
It is infact a P8 Thanks for the help, so it is likely a '84 then?
Is it even a good model?

I'd have to say somewhere between '83 and '86, Is it good?, I love mine! They were not a big $$ Bike, It was probably in the $250 range new. But it's very Euro, reliable, and lots of fun to ride. I'ts a major leap above the common, "Made in Taiwan/Japan" stuff, but it's not all that rare or valuable either.

On ebay it seems most peugeots complete and in good shape go for a least $100. I hava had a uo8(bottum of the line) and a pk10(uper entry level or bottum mid level) both rode very nice . I would love to find a frame set in reynolds 531 , I have a parts set waiting just for that.
