Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I did, but not since I shed 10 lbs. in the last month. That Hoodia from Costco really works!

Fat? I really don't know... but I jiggle more than I should.
I've lost 20lbs (and 2-3" in the waist) in the past year -all thanks to the bike- I could loose 20 more

Huh? Bonking doesn't have anything to do with how fat you are...

If I'm over 15% body-fat, I'd consider myself quite "fat". The rolls and handles show up quite loudly. My target is around 8-9%.

As a Gastric Bypass patient, let me tell you this is not the easiest route to go to lose weight. I am now 15 months post surgery and have lost 140 pounds. I am just 15 pounds from my goal. If I have the circumferential body lift I could lose even 15 more pounds. But even with the weight lose there are things I enjoyed eating in the past that make me physically ill.

Although I would make the same decision in a heartbeat, I would suggest that those who can lose the weight other ways look very seriously at your options.

My bodyfat level is such that my abs are just beginning to show. Apparently thats around 10% bodyfat. But yeah, I'd like to lose more and get to around 7 or 8%... That'd be about 5% of my total body mass, and therefore a little faster up the hills.

Actually its hard to believe that going by how I look I coulc lose about 9lbs of fat and still have 7% bodyfat, wierd...

Unfortunately chocolate, beer, bacon, cheese etc seem to be preventing it.

Bonked up a hill ?? really..what's a hill? bonking is due to not enough available carbs. Judgin' by the photo..... well, take a power bar, cliff bar etc. or a banana or two.. cookies.. for DURING the ride..it's NOT 'cause you're fat. You have it backwards. The Chinese food is high in sodium though,OK for sweatin' season but it can bloat you(water weight ) otherwise.

It is not that I consider myself fat , its the people who run into me everyday who think so.

I would consider myself fat, yes. But I'm big boned so I can handle a few extra. At 6'1, I weigh 230. Last time I did the ol fat content thing at a healthfare, I was 30% bodyfat according to that hand held thingy. Then they told me to seek medical attention!

Fat? lol . I've been vegan for several years. Lean and strong; it's like walking on air.

Yep the few pounds that mean the difference between being lean and having a six pack always seem impossible to shed.
