Old Raleigh Professional - Worth $50?
A non-riding friend of mine just showed me an old Raleigh Professional that had been left with him by friend who had moved away and couldn't take it with him. It is light blue, has shifters on the down tube. It has two chain rings and two sets of front and rear wheels. One cassette has 5 gears, the other six.
The wheels weren't on it so I couldn't ride it. The paint is good, although slightly oxidized--not rusty.
Is this bike worth $50 or more? I am strictly looking at this as a sale of opportunity, not something that would be my primary bike for the long term.
Comments from anyone who has direct knowledge of this bike would be appreciated.

check out the Classic and Vintage Section. You'll get a lot more useful info, but the short answer to your question is yes.

Old Raleighs in good condition seem to have a real cult like following. I know a few people who still use them regularly.

Is the bike read-to-ride or will it need a lot or maintenance and new parts? $50 is cheap if you can ride the bike as is. Replacement parts can easily cost you hundreds of dollars.

Could be worth 10 times that
edit: after looking at eBay if you can clean it up real purty and if it's original ~ $800+
even a below average condition frame went for ~ $150

Thanks to all. I will check out the Vintage and Classic sections as suggested, but sounds like I ought to snap it up.
