Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looks great. My 105 looks great and works great too, so in no hurry to get the latest and the best. Really happy with the 105 setup I have. Had for a 3 years or so without any problems or even adjutments.

I moved from 105 to Ultegra SL, and no huge difference. 105 is awesome. The SL look cool, though.
DA has the bling, no doubt, if that's important to you.

That's a silly statement. Of course it (the bling) is important.

It's only got ten cogs. What am I supposed to do with just ten cogs? Campy's moved on to eleven.
What's Shimano going to offer next? Friction shifters?

Now the Campy weenies will be saying 'mine goes to 11'.

At least they won't be able to bust us for the exposed cables any more.

Is it me, or does it look kinda stodgy, like the 2003ish era Dell computers?

I know it's been said...but it looks a lot like SRAM. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it.

Wife won't let me get it anyway, so I shouldn't be looking.

Bikesport in Michigan has a good website. There's an article about the comparison between Ultegra and Dura Ace. Admittedly its not about the 105 but nontheless, it does shed light on the differences.

...knowing what I've seen you post I would venture to guess this is because it looks a heck of a lot like SRAM.

Finally aero cables, good for Sh$tmano! BTW anyone checked on the MSRP on the DA carbon crank? $1295.00 and it's based on the 7800 series.

According to last months Velonews (hard copy) and this months article on Velonews.com it is still going to be available.

Link to entire VN.com article

"The latest word of Shimano’s yet-to-be-sold Carbon Dura-Ace crank is that it will keep the 7800 series designation and chainring style. Its revised release date is later this year, likely fall."
