Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Like in The Lord of the Rings. What is the Velo version? What bike schwag would turn you into a sniveling Gollum like creature if you owned it and it possessed you?

And how would you destroy it?

I have a thing for LEW wheels. I'll divert all funds to said wheels before I feed my family. They just don't understand. How can they?

You know, I was thinking, since I call my hill Mt. Doom, and I live there, you could ride that 11lb $20K bike up to my driveway and just leave it with me.

I'll take care of it for you.

If you show up at Nyack with those foo-foo friggin Lews, you better be fast he-man. Because if you're not the Latino NY City Cat 2 Contingent will beat you to death after the ride and take them anyway. By the time I get there (trailing by a minute or two no doubt) you'll already by dead.

Your Ceverlo (in my size, of course) with a power tap hub and 404 Zipps.

How would I destroy it? I WOULDN"T!!! I would just let it take over me. And to think how scary that could be, seeing as that my wussy Trek 1500 already has complete control over my life.....

Then how about some foo foo Easton EC90's? You'll turn to the dark side soon enough as well old man.

What's the closest frickin airport to the nyack start? Tabasco ala Pcad for breakfast sounds good.

But you must confess, that's entirely consistent with Self Loathing, Pcad Cycling Zen, and the Pcad BF World View.

More Time To Ride.

And I would destroy it by turning my obsessive compulsive tendencies into a full-blown addiction, and then I would systematically destroy my joints and all my relationships outside of the ones with those who also ride.

Dang, I just scared myself a little.
