All set for spring break

I plan on tossing all my gear together the day before I leave; pick the trail map up on the drive there. Snag some food at a convenience store.... so everything is planed out. I'm headed to Delmarva and I have a week.

Glad to hear. Hope the weather treats you well. I'll be heading out across western Oklahoma for 9 days of spring break riding starting this Saturday. Enjoy -

My spring break "tour" will consist of a trip to the hospital for surgery. WooHoo. I may refrain from posting pics.

Lets do the pictures Great Idea. Be warned - There's not a lot of color in this landscape right now. I'll be stopping by a couple lakes, some interesting granite domes, a couple nice canyons, with lots of flat stretches in between.

My bikes completely/fully loaded, cleaned top to bottom and its even pointed in the right direction - East. Work is draggggiing along.

Get well soon Machka - hospitals are no place for spring break.

Darn! I'm scheduled to clean the garage during Spring Break. Woop-dee-doo. I do have a century scheduled for the last weekend though.

Won't make spring break, but planning on a week or so between the internship this summer and class starting again. Figure its time to try out a solo tour.

route map

Just in case anyone is interested what the terminally bored do on the flatlands...here's a link the the spring break route. URL for this route: https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2627267 There's a chance of snow showers on the day of departure. With the bike weighing in at 101pounds I believe I'm equipped to a high degree. I promised myself that I'd not tuck any more treasures under the flaps.

Remember, all the horizon we see out here makes any visual obstruction interesting and seemingly larger and more important than it would be anywhere else on this sphere. haaaha It would seem then that touring is a state of mind. Yes or No?

I bet you can't wait!

It was -42C here yesterday, and not much warmer today. I'm pleased it is only supposed to drop to -21C tonight, and I'll be thrilled if the weather gets above 0C during the first weekend of spring break week so I can get out for a walk or ride or something.

Don't overlook Smith Island.
The mail boat leaves from Crisfield.
https://www.smithisland.org/access.html
That way - you can tell everybody you went on a "cruise".
Accommodations on the island are expensive.
You may want to make it a day trip, only.
