Which way do you lock your bike?

Through this school year, I've noticed very, very few bikes locked up facing OUT of the bike racks, but I always lock my bike facing out.

Just wondering how the rest of SSFG does it.

If the rack is the kind that you can really only get the nose or tail into, and I only have my u-lock, then I lock up the rear. I try to get the side of the rack so I can get the rear wheel and frame.

it depends on the style of rack, how long I'm leaving it, and the direction of the prevailing wind (90% of bike theft happens downwind)

I lock facing out of the rack so I can lock my rear wheel and frame to the rack.

If i'm just running in somewhere to eat or pick something up quickly I just use a mini bulldog. Lock the headtube to the bike rack/parking meter/streetsign.

If i'm locking up all day, like at work I go with a krypto ny u-lock through the front wheel/downtube to the rack/parking meter and the mini bulldog to lock the rear wheel to the frame.

i take mine to class with me. seriously. just hike it on your shoulder and don't look anyone in the eye. park it in the corner farthest away from the door and act like you've done it before.
