i only spy three things in common, i thought to be a doppelganger you have to be able to pass yourself off as another.

I just like the idea that it's the same frame/some parts/color scheme, but super tarcked out. We went in different directions; I went for classy and sensible, that other guy, not so much.

I actually saw the evil twin of my bike the other day at work- some guy walked by with a bike that was the same color, similar size and same handlebar setup, and my first thought was "oh sh*t, how'd he get through my lock?!" I ran to the door then realized it was a steel, not aluminum frame and he had toeclips, not spds. I need to find him again so we can be BestBikeFriendsForever, heh.

Mine's got at least three dopplegangers, which surprised me.
My bike:
Doppleganger #1 (the only one that's the same year and model)
Doppleganger #2
Doppleganger #3

My beautiful Bareknuckle on the right. Some lame clown bike on the left. I live in a town where there are probably less than 10 fixed gear bikes in total and one day this funky coloured republic bike showed up. The only really similar parts are the colours of the frame but still an unbranded green frame is pretty uncommon. Damn them!

There's a guy with a similar period, same color fixed gear, but his is a bit less outlandish than mine.
There's a couple other yellow bikes with white bits and a similar manner, I'm the only one with the horrible sense to paint the fork purple.

Havent seen anything that quite matches my FGs, but I have had some touring bike hilarity.
First, I dated a girl who's previous (super clingy stalkerish) boyfriend had the same tourer I did, and I didn't know it. I showed up to her place one time, leaned it up in her front yard, and walked a short distance away for some reason. She peeked out her window and got creeped out, thinking her ex was hanging out outside.
One of my biking buddies has a Surly LHT built a bit differently than stock (custom fenders, STI shifters, etc). I was out for a late-night ride, when I saw a scraggly young guy on what looked like an identical build, and hurredly called my buddy at some unreasonable hour to check his garage and make sure his bike was still there

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
I ride some pretty unique bikes so the odds of finding a doppelgänger here or anywhere are slim to none... I did have a guy e-mail me about building up an orange Peugeot UO8 into a fixed gear but it would still be very different from my orange UJ10 in many respects.
I don't expect to see another one of these rolling around anywhere...there just aren't that many 1940 CCM frames that have been converted to path racers.

I've seen them built up at stores; I just didn't think that Soma specd them out with certain components like Surly, Trek, (insert other major bike brand) or BD does. And, yes, Soma is most definitely a real brand.
